Saving images via hard drives or importing to your computer can be a hassle. If you take a ton of photos, the cloud can store them without the need for extra work.
iCloud
iCloud is the Apple operated cloud service. If you use Apple products and have a registered Apple device, you will receive at least 5GB of storage. iCloud can be used on any Apple product or even PC devices that use Windows. If you think you need more storage, Apple will provide it for you starting at 99 cents per month for 50 GB of storage. If you choose a 200 GB or 2TB plan, you can share the storage space with your family members that use the same Apple ID. With all the storage plans that you are able to pick from, iCloud also lets you store so much more than just images. You can save files, text messages, voice memos and emails, among other things. To turn iCloud on, go to your Settings option, tap on your name » iCloud » and turn on any savable features you may want to store.
Once it is turned on, you can view how much storage you have left and what is taking up the most space. If you want to purchase more storage, open Settings » tap your name » iCloud » Manage Storage » Change Storage Plan.
However, you won’t be able to save messages or email, just images and videos. Despite the limited saving features, Prime does allow you to transfer content effortlessly from device to device.
Google One
Google One, or Google Photo, is another excellent cloud storing service for anyone that has created a Gmail account or subscribes to any other Google service. Free plans are offered to anyone who owns an account. These plans provide you with 15 GB of storage. If this isn’t enough, Google One plans can get a bit pricey.
While the 15 GB plan is free, other plans can reach up to $300 monthly. Despite the price, Google allows you to save an array of different things from images to presentations. Additionally, it provides easy access to see how much storage is being used and from what features. With Google One, you can also share files from account to account and speak to employees to assist with any online inquiries.
Always use caution when storing sensitive data
The cloud is great for many reasons, but, like any online software, it is important to be aware of the circumstances. While it can be a great convenience to assure you don’t lose information, it is still on the internet. Most people shouldn’t worry about the possibility of information being stolen. But, experienced hackers could access certain information with persistence.
